    cannot power on

    omg someone plz help me. i bought my sr 3 weeks ago and i just realized that i can't power on using ac adapter with battery detached from the pc. is it because of some power settings?

    more like the AC adaptor is defective. your power settings should not prevent you from booting up!

    but i can power on the pc using adapter while the battery is attached to it. also, charging works properly. the only thing i need to mention is that i bought the notebook in canada and now i'm staying in china where the voltage is aboot 220v. i never removed battery before so i do not know if the high voltage damaged the adapter.

    Read what it says on the power adapter. If it does not say input voltage 120/220 or something like that, you have fried it.
