hi, i have been using the vpc-z1's wireless at 2.4ghz the whole time since my router doesnt do dual band. today i got a linksys e4200 but my vpc-z1 cannot detect my 5ghz band, is there something locked or something i should do to get it to detect 5ghz bands?

    i have already updated drivers

Did you already look in the wireless card's settings in Device Manager? (Honestly, I have no idea if there would be any relevant settings located there.)

    ok figured it out

when i first factory restored the OS, sony's smart network program set it so that i can only detect 2.4ghz networks. i uninstalled the program and i guess the wireless card is stuck like that and there is no way of changing it......until i re-install smart network again, reboot, change the settings so that it detects both bands, and uninstall the stupid program again
