    cant install new operating system

    hi
    i have laptop sony VGN-NW120J
    i had there windows 7 that doesnt work and it gives me to choose or to repair or to start windows normally
    both options doesnt work
    the hard disc and memory is good i check so i open the computer and the fan works great but the area above the fan getting really hot.
    i change cpu with new thermic lotion and still
    the problem is in the board or something else?

    We can't diagnose it unless you can run some professional diagnostics software like DFT or Memtest, or PC Check if you have access to it.

    But it seems like you've ruled the HDD and Memory out, I would suggest reinstalling the OS. Your previous data will be backed up automatically to the Windows.old folder upon your new install(Although for the peace of mind, I suggest you back up manually to an external HDD by booting into Ubuntu).

    Sounds like a corrupt OS, if you can install a new OS it would probably solve the issue of not booting.

    (By the way, your title seems to mismatch your information that you provided. Is it not installing or not booting?)
