I've searched these threads and Google and imagine I should assume that gives me the answer, but as a relatively new Z11 owner, just wanted to know is there a hack or other means to reverse the function key/FN sequence so that, like most modern laptops, you press the brightness key on the F row to change it, and you hold down FN plus, say F5 if you want to invokd the [rarely used] F1-F12 keys.

So, registry hack, keyboard macro, or just two-handed operation and suck it up?

Some manufacturers put their keyboard options within their BIOS... but the Insyde one is locked (and not even sure if they have that option once you unlock). In any case, the F1-F12 keys are really actually extremely useful once you get to know them, at least in my opinion.

Thanks. Happen to know an easy way to find out what F1-F12 do?

Well F1 usually pops up the "help" menu of an application, F4 drops down a list (web list if you're using a browser), F5 is refresh and F11 is Fullscreen. That's all I know (I'm sure there are those who know more than me lol). F5 and F11 are the two buttons I use commonly.

Thanks for that. I have searched all over - including through the owners manual pdf http://www.howardcomputers.com/images/digcon/USER_MANUAL/345FB67D-6352-48F5-AC31-3852758039FD.pdf and couldn't find definitive answers.
