    Hey,

I just bought a Sony Vaio SR19XN, it came with Vista Business and lots and lots of bloatware which don't interest me a bit. My question is: can I, after creating the recovering disks, make a clean install of Vista (without the bloatware) ?

    Thanks!

You should look around this forum for clean install topics, there is a lot out there and depending on the format of you recovery disks you may or may not (easily) do a clean install.

I was able to clean install my G11 very easily but not so on the Z11 due to the format of the restore CD i.e. the G11 had the driver and application folder laid out clearly (and in order) but the Z11 didn't.

I just got an SR190 and very easily did a semi-clean install. The only bloatware was Adobe Reader and Napster., but the drivers were installed correctly and I didn't have to activate or do anything annoying, it was a very easy process.

    1) make the recovery DVD's
    2) copy your Sony Recover folder to a cd
    3) reboot to the recovery DVD (NOT the partition)
    4) select the option for "Complete System Recovery"
    5) repartition however you want
    6) restore
    7) at some point, it will ask you to eject the DVD. do so
    8) random windows install stuff...
    9) After some reboots, it will go to an "install" windows and ask you to reinsert the recovery dvd. DON'T. Just cancel out of things until you get to a windows screen. I think that's it!

I was surprised at how easy it was to avoid the bloatware. I had to install the wifi driver, which was easy, and a few software things (fingerprint) but nothing that was a problem.
