    hey.

I have a Sony SR190 with vista home premium. When i boot up the computer everything starts up quick except it usually takes a couple of minutes before i can change the power plans (either from high to power saver or vice versa) and right click the network icon to connect to a wireless network.

Why does it take so long? When i mouse over both icons, it doesn't allow me to select anything for a long time.

    Thanks.

Iy is likely that it has not finished the startup process. Take a look in the task manager to see if cpu is below 10%, if not it is running some processes, most likely some antivirus program that you have. Also, some other sony bloatware may still be running.

I only have 55 processes at startup and i have a clean install of Vista. Everything else runs right at startup (ie. firefox, word), but I just can't change the performance plan or connect to the internet for a long time. i've already tried reinstalling the drivers.
