What is the difference between the FS 115 and FS 215 series? The FS 115 series aren't listed on Sony's site as far as I can tell.

I`m looking for the cheapest FS model with best Xbrite screen and a non-integrated video solution but cannot figure out which one to go for.

    Thx.

European naming convention is a little more confusing than US versions. Basically, FS115XX is Spring 2005 models and FS215XX is Summer 2005 models, with the XX being alphabetical letters for a particular configuration. In US, the Summer 2005 models have dual layer DVD burner as standard and a couple of other minor changes.

Thank you for clearing that up.

So I`m looking for a new laptop right and what really bothers me is that most laptop manufacturers make everything so goddamn complicated. It takes me too much time to figure out what is exactly in it. Xbrite, Eco Xbrite with 1 lamp or 2 lamps, confusing European and US model numbers. More often than not incomplete specs like HD RPM, weight with incl or excl battery, type of screen (glossy or not) and realistic battery usage figures. How Sony comes up with 5.5 hours for their FS series while nobody seems to get more than two hours out of it is totally beyond me. They should be arrested for crap like that. And why can't they all give their laptops normal simple names like: Bob 1. Bob 2. Harry 1. Harry 2. etc! Ok, a bit more flattering maybe ; ) but you catch my drift.

Haha, yeah, that's why there are forums like this one to exchange bits of info here and there. By the way, I don't see the battery life to go much beyond 2 hrs, if it gets to 2 hrs at all. That's what I have been testing for the past two days.
