I have a Sony Vaio VGN-35G Laptop with Vista operating system. I recently installed a wireless broadband system. My problem is that every time I try to connect to the wireless broadband I get a message to say that I have to turn on my wireless capability button, which I have. There is no fn/fx combination button. I have tried the connect to path - no wireless detected- set up connection or network - manually connect - fill in form with details of modem - tells me the network exists but cannot connect connect. Have also gone the control panel route - Intel wireless tools - run test - fails radio test. Have talked to Telstra Tech support - Problem with my wireless capability
need some help on this please

    Hi,

I'm not sure what a VGN-35G is. I think you may be missing a letter or two in front of the 35. The missing letter(s) specify the model range.

Also, can you clarify whether you're trying to set up a wireless broadband connection (also known as wireless wide area networking or WWAN) or set up a wireless local area network (also known as Wi-Fi)? You mention a modem and Telstra, which leads me to think you're trying to set up a WWAN connection. But you also talk about a wireless button and Intel wireless tools, which are for Wi-Fi.

If you're not sure, then what kind of device did you get from Telstra? Is it a small USB modem that plugs directly into your computer (called Turbo, Elite, or Ultimate USB), or the Elite Network Gateway, or the Mobile Wi-Fi, or an ADSL or Cable Home Network Gateway?
