    hi

i've been waiting for quite some time to buy a laptop and i've decided to go with either this line, macbok pro, xps m1530 or the new alienware models. but i'll wait until after both ces and macworld until i decide. i just have a couple of questions about this

whats it like to travel with?
    is the 8600gt 256mb ddr2 or 3?
what is the refresh rate fot this model?
and what periods of the year do sony usually introduce their new/updated model(s).

    thanks in advance :)

    1) It weighs about 8.4 pounds so like with any 17' notebook I'm sure it's not too pleasant to carry around.
    2) GDDR2
    3) I know the current AR was released around June/July this year, and the previous was refreshed to add Windows Vista in February. So I'd say every 4-5 months.

If you're planning to travel with it I suggest getting the Macbook Pro, or XPS 1530. Both are around 5.4 pounds.
