The screen is still X-brite Eco on both notebooks. :(

The NS series is not that different from the NR series. The processor, the screen and the graphics card is the same. It even looks the same.

The CS series seems better. However, the notebook itself seems overly glossy and the screen is still X-brite eco.

Massive FAIL dude. That's beyond speculation wrong. They both use Centrino 2 Chipsets GM45. They both have the BRAND NEW Intel x4500 GPU which is comparable to a Geforce 8400. They both have the new wifi link 5100 wireless chipsets which support ABGN(and improved performance all around). They both use Montevina Core 2 Duo 45nm NEW CPUs. The NS uses the budget minded T5800 which is only 2.0 ghz, while the CS uses the more improved P8400 series CPU.

IMHO, they are both great budget machines. The NS can be had with bluray and 4GB of RAM for 1000 bucks, cant beat that!

Any more questions about the new vaios, feel free to PM me! I have a Centrino 2 SR, which uses the same chipsets, its just more powerful and light!

I can't comment on the screen, but i have a X-Brite Eco LED screen and it looks great. Anyways, the NS and CS have slightly improved looks. If you saw the NR vs. NS in person you could tell they were different, and same for the CR vs. CS.

I think you misunderstood me. When I mentioned the graphics card, I meant that the NR and NS series both have integrated graphics. I never pointed out a particular one. Of course the IGP on the NS series is newer.

As for the processor, the NS series only has the T5800, which is old and isn't really an improvement from the T5750 on the NR series.

And as for the screen, I was only pointing out that both have X-brite Eco display ONLY.

I agree that they are both great budget notebooks though. I would love to get one of these, if only there were more OPTIONS, if you know what I mean...

it appears canada gets shafted once more, no P8400 in the CS here, only the T5800.

Haha, perhaps i overreacted. I just got worked up because, as you can see the person posting is pretty "new" and appears to need more detail then that. No offense to the original poster. Granted, im not sure why you would say there are no new features. I mean, its simply a technology upgrade of the old ones, aka a successor. but, then again, what do you expect... a geforce 9800 and a quad core proccesor in budget machine. For a refresh, i'd say it got quite a performance bump. Even if the T5800 is similiar/identical to the T5750, its on a new board, and i believe is also 45nm tech, so it should be lighter and produce less heat, and have a lower power footprint, just like the rest of the montevina chips.

Anyhow, we all got shafted, there are japanese and i think euro CS's shipping with geforce 9300 GPUs.

There aren't that many new features. In terms of the processor, I was expecting something like a P8400(2.26Ghz.) or P8600(2.4Ghz.). As for the graphics card, I was expecting something a bit better than IGP. I was expecting something like the HD3200, HD3470, 9300GS etc. In other words, low-end graphics cards.

Also, I still don't understand why Sony doesn't implement their Hi-color screens in their budget models. Screen quality is very important.

Again, I did mean anything high-end. I hoped Sony would slightly improve on the features of the NR and CR series with these new notebooks.
