The FZ is a premium model. NR is not customizable.

Yes, the FZ is a premium model whereas the NR is a budget model, the FZ has options for higher end features like a Blu-Ray player/burner and dedicated graphics, but its really strange they pair it with a pathetic 1280x800 display, no higher options. :(

Yes, the screen is on it is fantastic, as with most Vaio models. I really do like its design as well, whichever color it comes in.

But having a Blu-Ray option and 1280x800 only screens is absolutely ridiculous especially when Sony is such a proponent of Blu-Ray.

Agreed, hence my "beautifully pathetic" comment. ;)

ok thanks for clearing that up. so I think I will be going with a custom fz. but I have heard that the hicolor screen on the fz doesn't look as good as the lesser eco. is there any truth to that. I wouldn't wanna spend extra money on something that is not as good.

Not a scintilla of truth. Just the opposite.

There is a poster running aroun here who has the ECO version but apparently gets it confused with HiColor, or he just does not know how to make adjustments. Go HiColor!

definitely go HiColor, if you aren't sure you can go to a sonystyle store and see the ones on diplay, you'll know the difference in about 3 seconds
