i was going through the startups and was wondering which of the following "should" be disabled. i googled all of them but the description was vague and i just wanted to know which of you disabled them. i like the option of using the sz's stamina/speed switch to toggle the graphics card on and off.

    ipfxtray.exe
    - intel graphics driver. do i need it if i just want to toggle on/off graphics display using the stamina/speed switch?

    hkcmd.exe
    - something about "intel hotkey." does this control the "fn" buttons?

    igfxpers.exe
    - related to the graphics card but i read that it is not needed. disable?

    NvCpl.dll, NvStartup
    - nvidia driver for the control panel. most likely keep

    partseal.exe
    - needed for f10 recovery. not going to disable.

    isbmgr.exe
    - used to check if your battery is a genuine sony product. definately disable.

    menusw.exe
    - the fingerprint sensor. remove if not using it

are you using sysinternals? that's a better identifier.

i had some blank ones and deleted them. i believe they were the old norton files. used norton remover.

or you can use a program like yamicsoft. programs are a bit more graphical and may give you a brief description of what it is about. some programs like advanced uninstaller give you a rating from 1-5. both of these programs are pay to use

it's one of those vista security things. you can change it but i'm not sure how as i don't use vista.

to aacury. i have 40 processes running. i'm not sure exactly how many i had earlier on but i know it's more than 50.

Crap Cleaner is also an excellent tool you can use to disable startup programs.
