    i waz wnderin whether the same model has got different names in different regions of the world.....cuz i dun seem to find any reviews of the new FE38gp launched last month..(i purchased it from s'pore)...so does it have an alias in the (say) american market ??

    It probably does, as the European SZs have different model numbers compared to their North American counterparts. You can see this just by checking the European SonyStyle store and comparing it to the North American one.

    yes, I believe the fe38gp is the fe790 in the united states. I have no idea why they don't just make it all consistent.

    k....ya even i wonder why don't they keep d same name ..there must b a reason...newayz the fe 38gp was launched in the last week of october(2006 of course!!)...but i think fe 790 came around feb 2006 or smthin.....
    they might be different then

    and also the vaio FE 38gp is priced around 2400$ whereas FE 790 is around 1500$......THEY OUGHTTA BE DIFFERENT!!!
