    HI Friends

i have just bought this machine
VGN-FZ25GN and downgraded to windos xp from vista..
i am facing some problem after installation of drivers which was available on the sony-asia web site...
i installed them as mentioned in the document...
but still i am not able to do these things
    1) cannot hear sound... i added the kb patch and then installed the audio.exe but its giving me error like "device object not present"
    2) camera is not working
    3) power management do not reduce the brightness of the screen... which is making hell for me looking at the screen... its showing brightest and i can look at it for long time...
if any one has installed these drivers successfully then please please help me

I wud like to mention one thing... i created my own windows xp CD after adding SATA drivers which prevented me to spend on buying a new external floppy drive....
i hope this is not the reason of the problem which i am facing...

    waiting for the reply
    thanks
    gaurav

For 1 and 2, you just need to find the right driver, if it even exists. Maybe Sony doesn't give out drivers for XP for those components, so you should try going to the manufacturer's website and get the XP drivers there.

As for 3, there should be a keyboard shortcut (FN + ___) that changes brightness. If you don't wanna do it that way, then go download the Sony power management utility that you used to use in Vista.

thank u for this prompt reply :)

    for
audio drivers i need to find our which kb patch (Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver ) is applicable which i am facin problem in finding out.
kb835221.exe is what available on sony's website..
but i think kb888111 is right for winxp sp2.. still i am not sure...

how can i get the information about the manufacturer of the my audio and camera devices..?

(FN + ___) keys dont work in this case...
and when i tried to install this power management utility of vista , it tried to load procedure from the dll which was not there in the dll.
do u have same machine or know some one who has successfully done it

    thanks
    Gauav

Danish, you should either make your own post about this in the sony section, or look in the review section.
