Trying to put Ubuntu on my Z131190X with an existing Windows 7 install. I get as far as grub-installl, and it fails. I'm pretty sure it is due to the RAID 0 configuration, but is there a workaround for this? I need both OS's on the laptop.

    Thanks!

I tried with Ubuntu 12.10 and could never get it to install on the FakeRaid using either dmraid or mdmadm. I ended up re-installing Windows 8 from scratch on a partition on one SSD and then used LVM to span the remainder of that one plus the second for Linux. After realizing I hadn't booted Windows in three months I ended up using just installing straight Ubuntu using LVM to stripe the two SSD drives.
