    i bought a new laptop sony viao vgnfs920 ,my combo drive detecting only dvds and not cds, i can only write to dvd media not not to blank cd.If anyone know abt the problem please let me know.

    You might want to try some different discs. Perhaps a firmware upgrade or deleting the ide drivers will help.

    Have you found a solution to your problem. I have a sony vaio VGN-FJ150. I am have the exact same problem and I feel like I have tried everything. Please reply to this post if you did. It would be greatly appreciated.
