    eject/volume buttons wont work

    formatted laptop (Sony VGN-A215Z) and wiped everything, deleted all partitions (including hidden) installed win XP home. installed every driver i could. the only thing that doesnt work now is the eject button for the cd tray and the volume controls. any ideas on how i can fix this as it is most annopying.

    Do the function keys work? I thought the hotkey utility did all of those hardware functions with Sony, but I don't have a lot of experience with that brand.

    I would suggest you go to US Sony Support website and take a look at the drivers available there for A2xx series. You want to check find Hotkey Utilities and its prerequisites, sound card driver, and optical drive driver.
