    Hi all,

I bought a Vaio VGN-sz650n notebook in April, and despite much love and care, its display has a small crack on the. Sony won't repair it (although I still believe they should, because isn't that what's warranty is for?).
So, I was thinking about replacing the display myself. Has anyone here done that, is it easy or hard? Are there any detailed instructions on the internet somewhere? Or would the better plan to have it repaired in some independent computer hardware shop (I'm in San Francisco, but don't have experience with those kind of shops here).
And will it be cheaper than $700, cause that's what Sony wants to have to do that?

    Help is greatly appreciated!

don't do it yourself, you will end up with an expensive paper weight for a laptop

Go to those computer repair pawn shops, haggle a price, compare atleast 3 different one's rates and "days in repair" estimate and make a choice..

I cant believe sony wont fix it, did u get the 'accident damage warranty' ?
