Anybody know which program on the Sony recovery disk is responsible for the fn shortcuts and the s1 and s2 key functionality?

    Thanks.

Have you installed this component "Sony® Programmable I/O Control Device Driver"? There are three or four Sony components that you need to install to get the S keys & hotkeys working. You can either do an application recovery with your recovery kit and just install the necessary components or go to Sony Supoort to download the drivers.

Sony Support website has a very easy-to-follow Windows XP clean install guide. Just be patient and read all the precautions and what software needs what other software to work.
