    Hey guys!

I have had my vgn-fw490j for almost three years now, but the battery life of the standard battery is not cutting it for me anymore. I was looking for the extended battery, VGP-BPL13, or something like that, but it is discontinued now, but there is a new one, VGP-BPL21. It is the one for the newer F series. Will this one work on my laptop? I think it should, the dimensions are the same and everything.

    Thanks!

Yes it wil. My old extended battery from FW290 fit and works perfectly in my newer F11. I think there is a small voltage difference, amperage is the same but there's no issues at all. I placed normal battery from F11 into FW290 and both laptops works.

Oh yeah, I have a question about the battery care thing from Sony. I didn't think this warranted a new thread which is why I am just continuing this thread. Do you guys actually use it? I never did, and now after about 2.5 years, I have around 16 % battery wear. Should I use the battery care with my future extended battery? Instead of like 80% charge limit in vaio battery care, would say, like, 90% be alright as well. I really don't want to lose 20% of my battery charge...

    Thanks guys!
