    fz battery problems or cable problems?

    Hi,

    I have a vaio fz11z. i bought a generic battery a couple of years ago and all has been well. Yesterday, the computer wouldn't accept power from the cable, which, of course, didn't charge the battery. The battery has gradually run down and now I can't turn on the computer. the cable is new and works.

    Any ideas?

    Do I need a new battery?
