i have a sony fs model with a 6400, but its vga out only, how would i go about connecting my laptop to a rca only tv.

also, will running the notebook while closed damage the screen since heat comes up from the keyboard?

You can check out this link...you will just have to get a normal RCA video cable to connect to it:

    http://www.computercasesandcables.com/ccc/CV-25120?mv_pc=froogle

You can get the cord to connect your head phone jack to the audio input on the tv like seen here:

    http://froogle.google.com/froogle_c...ogle&oi=froogler&lmode=&addr=&scoring=p&hl=en

Again you can get the cables to adapt to those.

You should be able run you lappy while closed without damage to the comp. That is why they make docking stations.

    Hope this helps.

Depending on what kind of TV you have will be what settings you will need use...I think you can only go like 640x480 or something like that. Hook it up and let me know what you think. I am going to try and get the cable I need to hook my lappy up to my TV.

At Circuit City they want like $130 for a 12' cable. I am getting the DVI - HDMI cable. I have an HD TV so I am wondering how that is going to look.

Post what kind of picture you had on here so I know if it helped.

i tried the vga to component wire and got no picture, i really doubt the vga to svideo will work unless there is some kind of encoder built into that wire.

FYI I got a vga to DVI cable from radioshack. When I plug it in nvidia console recognizes my tv (with the correct model-tv is aslo a sony-) but I can't get any image from the tv. It appears that sony tv dvi input accepts data only at some special format.
