I'm currently in search for a keyboard assembly for my VGN-Z520N and came accross one for VGN Z890 in eBay.

The left shift button is shorter and has an extra button beside it. The Enter button is larger than the ones I've seen.
I googled images of Z890 and saw that the keys should be similar to my Z520N.
I asked the seller about it and he replied it's an 'international keyboard' and it fits his Z890 fine.
Any thoughts?

The keyboard should work with your VGN-Z.
The layout is a UK keyboard layout. -
It's also genuine. I doubt anyone makes aftermarket keyboards for such a niche computer.

Thanks for your replies!

Yes, it should work.
-
One more question, am I correct to assume that the ribbon connector would not work if I hook it to my Z520N keyboard assembly due to the difference of the keyboard layout?
-
It should work without problems.

OK. That's good to know. I'm not feeling the UK keyboard layout. I just hope that the keyboard issues that I'm having is due to a broken ribbon cable. If that's the case, I'll just get the ribbon cable included with this item and attach it to the Z520N keyboard assembly.
Thanks again! -
Is the ribbon not available for purchase by itself on the secondary market?
-
I got the keyboard assembly with the ribbon cable for $45. Keyboard alone and labor where I live costs $55.
I also broke the clip underneath the Caps key and needs to be replaced. I think it'll cost me more to 2 separate items because of shipping and tedious to look for both parts. -
Ah gotcha. You got a great price then! Good luck with the repair.

Good luck!
