    My Laptop Model Is Vaio Vgn Nr 385e/w , It's Toshiba Hard Disk Model Is Toshiba Mk2546gsx.

    It Is Making Cracking Noise Like Chattering Teeth...how To Prevent ?

    Is Their Any Problem With Hard Disk ?

    I Have Warranty Should I Send To Replace ?

    Please Advice Or Give Any Solution...thanks

    Try downloading the professional version of HD Tune. You can set the AAM value. Post back here to tell if it made any difference.

    but.....

    what AAM value should i set ?
    is that safe to change AAM value ?

    i hear this kind of noise from all laptop in my room except ibm...it this really dangerous ??

    Certain hard drives are louder than others, but it's really hard to tell if it's a dangerous sound or just normal operation since noise is so subjective for everyone.

    That said, I have a Sony Vaio SR, which has the exact model hard drive as yours (Toshiba Mk2546gsx), and quite honestly, I don't find it unbearably loud. I'll hear intermittent soft clickety-click sounds, but it's only barely louder than the fan, and I can only hear it in absolute silence when I pay attention to it. I think it's just normal operation noise if it's not too noticeable. What you might try is to go to a store and put your ear near the laptop and see if you can hear the same noises?

    thanks for the reply...i think you are correct...my laptop harddisk noise is also just like your laptop, ..... when i put my ear near my harddisk , i am hearing noises or else not that louder.....might be just an usual noise as u said...
