This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    hard drive update

    If i was to buy a Sony Laptop, could I upgrade the harddrive myself, or would that void the warranty. BTW, Im looking at the A170/A190 and they only offer a 5400 rpm

    Exchanging the hard drive would most likely void the warranty. I don't know if that would be the case if you would put back in the original hard drive in case of a warranty issue.
