This is a new model in Thailand and I may get it for my friend.

I am wondering if any one here has it.

    This model has T8100 2.1ghz , 2gb ram, 200gb hdd 5400rpm , ATI x2300 with 128mb, finger print reader and most importantly WIFI N and BT2.0 +edr.

I am comparing this against HP DV2760TX.

    This HP has T8100, 2.1ghz , 1gb ram , 160gb hdd 5400rpm, NV8400GS with 128mb and Lightscribe ,finger print reader and BT2.0 EDR.

I like the HP's GPU better but the Sony has more RAM,and 3000baht cheaper.

Also , the HP does not support WiFi N ..........

I think I buy a ASUS F8 SV4so32 for myself but I am wondering which of these 2 laptops to give my friend.....

My friend is a grad student so he needs a carry-around with him kind of laptop but not too slow or too small.

I suggested him an ASUS but he thinks it looks cheap or something.
He says the ASUS has a bad battery life , lasting only a hour on a charge, is this true?

    Any comment appreciated ............Derek.

yes, this sony is a penryn refresh in your country. and for the GPU, the HP is better. If you want to take the HP, you can upgrade the RAM by yourself.
For the asus, the battery life of F8SV is around 2 to 2.5 hours

    thank you boko.

I mean giving it to my friend here , not for myself , if it were for myself, I'd take the ASUS over any of HP laptops any day.

To be honest, I am not a fan of HP design and support, they do not put recovery disks and I think it is a big problem.

Does Sony give you recovery disk ?

If not I will give my friend a Toshiba since I know they provide a couple of Vista DVDs for free.

    Thanks for your input.

Sony has a built in recovery partition, with it you can make your own disks.

Sponsi thanks alot , I can buy it for my friend then.

I never used any Sony so I did not know it and I was kind of afraid to buy it for my friend.

    Thank you for your input.
