    hdd protection and driver

    Hey i have recently installed hdd protection and software on my new vaio sz. Is there anywhere i can see this working? It seems like i cannot find the software installed? Nor do i know where to see it in the device manager?

    you should be able to get there via Vaio Status Monior

    Have reinstalled Vista on my machine a few times and I have issues installing it.

    It worked the first time, but the last three times I can not install HDD protection driver/utility because it says applicable Device is not present..

    Weird. Everything else works flawless, including the CAM which some problems have issues with.

    ok, try this.

    Uninstall HDD protection thingy completely.
    Then, re-install two of Sony's shared DLL and library stuffs. There should be two folders. Lastly re-install HDD protection. It should work.

    One thing I learned from Sony product is that, I must install two mentioned packages before I install any further drivers to get things work.
    I have several friends who owned pre-generations of sony laptops and they all told me to install drivers (especially those sony lib/dll stuffs) in step by step manner.
