Doing a clean install of vista ultimate on my SZ230, and I seem to have everything (I care about) working EXCEPT for one thing:

I can't seem to get the function key for FN-F1 to work. The FN-F2 (mute) works, as does the volume(f3,f4). The brightness (F5/6) reacts, but doesn't do anything (which is fine for me.)

However, I OFTEN use the FN-F1 combination to turn bluetooth on/off (or to turn the wifi on/off while using only BT)

I've gone so far as to start installing several un-related utils to see if it does the trick, but no luck so far.

    Any suggestions?

Ha - didn't know that the FN+F1 is programmed for anything - it doesn't do anything with mine either.

FN-F1 doesn't do anything on my SZ120P. I do wish that I could get the darn FN-F2-5 working in Vista though!

check vista windows update, it should come out with an update called "sony notebook control device", install it. also make sure you already install "VAIO Event Service". hope that help.
