suddenly yesterday my computer stopped recognizing disks in th disk drive. i imported a bunch of stuff into itunes with no problem and then bam, i tried to import a dvd onto the hardrive (using dvd shrink) and nothing in drive. ran intervideo it said there was nothing in there. tried other disks and cd's nothing. tried windows media player nothing

also itunes crashes every time i plug my ipod in. reinstalled ipod software no help. i get a windows message saying that there is nothing in the drive (but there wouldn't be it's and ipod. after a number of restarts i do get an ipod update (i have 3 ipods) and then it happens again next time. i have no recovery disks at home. i could fix this in osx but not with windows. i know this may be the wrong forum if someone could kindly pass me to the right one i'd appreciate it

just did a system restore and still nothing. must be a bumb dvd drive?
