    Greetings all
I am a movie fanatic and have been hunting around for a laptop with a high res display and a bluray drive. I found this deal on newegg and was wondering if it is a good deal?

I couldn't find many reviews so I was wondering if anyone knows of any known problems with this model? For example, excessive heat, battery problems etc.

Also, is it recommended to have discreet graphics along with a bluray drive for smooth bluray playback or is an IGP enough?

Thanks in advance for everyone who chimes in!!!

Here is the one I just had delivered for my g/f today. Haven't gotten home to check it out yet but the specs look identical outside of it being Coconut White. $85 is still 10% difference. It was out of stock and I just listed my name for when it came available.

    Newegg.com - SONY VAIO E Series VPCEB17FX/W NoteBook Intel Core i3 330M(2.13GHz) 15.5" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 5400rpm BD Combo ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

All the reviews say it is just a bit chunky and battery life isn't great but if you're using it as a "mobile desktop" it should work fine w/ bluray/1080p since I've had computers do that just fine w/ much less processor/video card. Beyond that my g/f likes the way it looks so she gets what she wants (the BR/1080p are for me though =P )

    Thanks a bunch mishap!!!
It makes perfect sense to go for the white since like you said the specs are identical. money saved is money saved.
Any idea on how long newegg takes to replenish their stock? If I do the auto-notify thing will that be enough?
Please do post a mini review/thoughts if you find the time once you play around with the new machine. Thanks a million!!!

You can try their live chat to see when it comes into stock again. I think it was about a week or two until they came into stock from the time when I added my name to the list but it went back out by the end of the day. You could also try to convince them the black one deserves the same price. They've treated me pretty well for customer service issues in the past but who knows if that's within their power. Either way, good luck.

With the EB, go for the one with the ATI graphics. It's one of those things you CANNOT upgrade down the line if you need to. And you'd most likely regret not getting it one day.
