Have you found the support page for your model? Does it show drivers and software?

^Yes, w/WIN 7, you don't need special burning software. You can go onto the SONY site and search by model and look for support to see if it is offered to download...

I highly recommend CDBurnerXP for all your burning needs. It's clean, fast, efficient, and free.

Surprised that nobody has yet told the OP that:

"The programs you are missing are in the recovery partition, and unless you want to go through incredible contortions (google "sony recovery partition extract"), you'll not see again"

So, either, figure out how to extract (I've never wasted my time doing so), or just realize that you need to use other software in the future (that's always worked for me).

    Best luck

Sony will not offer you burning software - maybe an upgrade, but NOT the original from the recovery disk/partition.

thank you every one for help i really now i understand some issues..

    i have another question.

after i upgrade from vista to win. 7 i noticed that the the free disk space on drive C: is 143 of 287 which mean 320 giga. and i do cleam install but why the win. 7 take all that space let do this simple calculate 287 - 143 = 144 giga. so is this space all for windows 7 ?? i think its too much and most of application not installed.

Check out this tool called Spacesniffer: SpaceSniffer, find lost disk space the easy way.

It gives a very detailed diagram of how your hard drive's space is allocated, useful for locating which files are taking up all your space. Give it a shot if you want to know what is taking up so much space :D

You upgraded, so there is an option to go back to the previous OS, in this case Vista. So Windows 7 setup essentially made a backup of your Vista installation. If you don't want to go back to Vista, ever, then this backup can be deleted to reclaim the disk space that it is using.

I must recommend a clean install instead of an upgrade. Boot from the Windows 7 DVD and choose a fresh install, and do a quick format of the C partition when prompted. You'll lose everything currently on the C partition (that's what a clean install means), but you'll also lose all the accumulated junk from Vista. If you can get your drivers sorted out, this is the best possible way to go from Vista to Windows 7.

You need to collect the drivers for your model. Do this first. I'm assuming everything is working at the moment, although not at peak performance.

Once you've done this, there are several very detailed threads for installing Windows 7 on VIAO. This one, for example:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/431357-guide-installing-w7-64-vaio-vgn-z.html
Carefully go through the list of hardware and see if it matches yours. If not, find drivers yourself for the items that are different.

I'm assuming your model originally came with Vista. Use Win 7 drivers wherever available. Only if Win 7 drivers are not available should you use Vista drivers, or, better, look elsewhere for Win 7 drivers.

Which Win 7 are you going to install? 32 bit or 64 bit? 64 bit is better, but it is a bit fussy about drivers.

You first said you did an upgrade, then you said clean install. Which was it?

Did you delete all partitions on the drive and reformat before the clean install? Sounds ike maybe not. If so, something is very wrong. Do another clean install formatting the entire disk first.
