    helpp..laptop fell..dvd drive not working

    my vaio vgc-c31 gh /w latop fell sideways (on the dvd drive side)..consequently drive was not opening..i managed to open using manual eject..however device manager is not showing any dvd drive..i can feel the cd spinning inside..but the ornage indicator does not light up..wht cud be wrong...

    Try taking the drive out and resetting it back. It maybe just a loose connection. If that doesn't work, then you most likely damaged your drive. You can always purchase a replacement from sony.

    hi emp.how exactly do i take the drive out...i mean just open the bottome screws?
