The order of sony drivers is important. Try a fresh install with installing device drivers first (except the video driver). Then after all other hardware drivers. Install Sony Programable I/O, Sony Firmware, Then Sony Notebook utils. Reboot where prompted. You can follow my Z clean install guide for the new Z VCPZ112 it should be similar for the older Z. I could be wrong but i believe there is a Z guide here on the forums for your generation model.
