ive taken all the screws out from the bottom of the laptop but i cant take the palm rest off. There seems to be a screw right under the f6 button or thereabouts which i dont have access to. I need to take the harddrive out and replace it and its pretty urgent. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm trying to disassemble the same laptop now and have hit the same problem, so I'm wondering if you ever figured it out: was there another screw? or did you just need to use more force to pop the palm rest off? I'm fixing it for a friend so obviously I don't want to break anything. Much appreciated if you're still following this thread and can reply.

Found the solution and posting it in case anyone else has the same problem in the future:

In order to remove the palmrest and gain access to the hard drive and motherboard, there's one screw hiding beneath the keyboard which you have to remove. Once you unscrew that one final screw, the palm rest will come off. To remove the keyboard, first remove the screws on the bottom of the laptop, then use something to pry up the bottom edge of the keyboard and it will pop out. It's shown in this video on how to replace the VGN-N31S keyboard.
