    how many GB is a FZ190 recovery DVD for vista?

    what type of DVD do i need? -r or +r?

    It takes up 2 DVDs, but not fully on the 2nd one.
    Plus or minus R or RW is fine. Just dont use a dual layer DVD (it says not to, dont really know why)

    wow thanks for clearing that up. i was gonna get double layer too! heh.. any more advice ?

    Yeah, make sure you make the Recovery DVDs as the first thing you do.
    I actually made 2 sets (4 DVDs) right when I got it. I wanted to delete the recovery partition to get that 7GB back. Lucky enough, the recovery DVD maker stopped functioning after I uninstalled Sony's bloatware.

    I also plan on using Acronis TruImage to image the computer to a external hard drive, so I can restore with everything installed instead of starting from scratch (and spending 2 hours to uninstall Sony's bloatware). This I highly recommend to everyone! Symantec Ghost works great too.
