    I use SZ79 with mtron SSD 32G.

I just patched the bios which is alble to use ahci and vt in my SZ79.

It seems works very well yet.

but i`ve read that it could crash with hdd protection when i enalbe to use ahci.

Anyone knows how to stop or disable hdd protection on default Vista which is installed by recorvery CD?

i don`t need hdd protection because of SSD.

If it doesn't show up in your Vista "Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Uninstall a program" list as "VAIO HDD Protection" then it's not installed.

My question is why you don't need hdd protection facility? Its great feature. With this your hard drive life is increases up to 2 times than its normal life. How ever its your required but my work is tell you about it. :rolleyes2:

Because he doesn't have a hard drive
    he has a ssd

    To the OP:
also go into VAIO Control Center -> click on Security
and see if it's off there
