Unfortunately the warranty from Sony does not give YOU the say in this. It is repaired or replaced at THEIR discretion.

I returned my fz290 for having a bad keyboard. It was only a few weeks old. Did not want to get new laptop repaired. I have since ordered a FZ4000 as a replacement.

If you're inside the normal return period than why not just return it to where you bought it and purchase another one, as KLM did?

Sony won't replace a faulty notebook. You can return it for free (under 30 days) and then place a new order.

thanks. i think i will return and order and order the fz4000.
will be returning this week end -
i am think between fz4000 and dell 1530. any suggestions?
i just need a sturdy notebook, with good performance -
If the 1530 just had a display that looked as nice as SONY's I would get the 1530 over the SONY JUST BECAUSE SONY"S CUSTOMER CARE S#CKS!
Dell lets see some nice dual lamp screens!!!
how to request a vaio replacement
