    Hmm .. I tried to start it and press F10 to start the petition. The only option that I could do from there is to "restore" my computer back to a certain save point rather than do the whole recovery thing like I've done before for HP computers.

    So how can I do this in Sony laptop?

    Use the start menu search function to look for the "Vaio recovery centre" program. An option to restore the complete system should be there :)
