Does anyone know how to turn off the beep the function key makes when you change the volume or brightness on the SR model? I have Vista, and the Event Service folder doesn't show up in my program files so I can't change the pi.wav file name and Event Service doesn't show up in the volume mixer on the taskbar. Ideas???

If you cannot change the name of the pi.wav, you probably do not run your account with administrator rights. You should make sure you have those.
If it still fails, you should right click on the file and chose properties. Make sure you have the rights to rename the file.

I have administrator rights, but I don't have the file pi.wav. I don't have the Vaio Event Service folder that it's supposed to be in. Is there someplace else the file would be?

    You do not have:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\VAIO Event Service
    ?
