What is the performance difference between the i5 and the i7- is the i7 worth getting for the performance? Is the i5 worth getting for battery power savings?
EDIT- I am referring to the i5 4200U and i7 4500U for the Pro 13

Use CPUBoss to compare different CPUs and their power usage. It's a quite reliable site in my experience.
-
If you are planning on running lots of demanding games, I would recommend an i7. If you want long battery, find a processor that uses less power.
-
I looked at that site and they said the i7 was a little more powerful but their battery usage was only based on the max TDP, which isnt really realistic......
-
They both have the same max TDP- but I dont know if the i5 would use much less power on average usage...
-
Sometimes, being weak doesn't translate to being power-efficient. Depending on the architecture and technology, a more powerful CPU could also be an efficient one. It would greatly help to know the specific CPUs you have in mind as well. Which generation or architecture are the i5/i7, and what are their model numbers?
