I just got an iPhone 3Gs since I thought it would be fun to see what the hype was about. This phone supports tethering and that works great but only when I use the USB connection.
Im running x86 Windows 7 build 7100.
Here is a step by step on what I do:
Enable Bluetooth on the laptop and iPhone.
Use the laptop to find the iPhone.
Pair the two (the check number is correct).
Now the laptop finds the driver but makes a lot of the "device disconnected" sounds for a few seconds.
"Decide driver software was not successfully installed"
However, the iPhone is now in the bluetooth device list, but with a yellow warning sign in the left corner.
I did some googleing here and someone recommended rightclicking the iPhone in the bluetooth device list and unchecking the "Wireless iAP" and then right click and press "Connect using -> Access point".
This seems to have solved similar problems for other users, but it did not work for me.
The error whenever I try to connect using the mentioned settings is "An unexpected error occurred. Please contact your system administrator."
Anyone know what might be wrong? Or have you experienced something like this? Any help is appreciated.

Well, after installing a bluetooth driver I found on the local Sony support site it worked - it still dosnt act perfect, but I can live with that. What matters is that it works!
