    Hi

I recently purchased a sony vaio fz 180e and im happy with the machine , only complain is the huge ammount of bloatware on it =/
When i first start the machine my hard driveseem like it wont stop working , the light constantly blinks. I disabled everything in the start up and norton and all the things that where running in the back ground, but the HD light will keep working for a good 15 minutes then it wil slowly go to normal and work only when i open programs and run things.
The machine looks good and im happy with it but is there a way to do a fresh install of vista with out using all that crap that comes with it? i remember on the SZ there was a way of doing using the recovery disks.

Look around, what you seek is right here in the threads. And remember that a FZ180 and and FZ190 are pretty much the same beast.

Just uninstall every crap, use a registry cleaner, defrag ur HD, no need for clean install of vista.

If it weren't for the fact that Norton comes preinstalled on these machines I maybe just MIGHT agree with you. But because it is, I would recommend a clean install if you have a Vista DVD at your disposal. Norton's uninstall is notorious for leaving all sorts of hooks behind. I do not trust it. I have had too many PAINFUL experiences with it. Uninstalling stuff an using a registry cleaner is ok, but for a truly optimized machine a clean install is the way to go.

    This is simply untrue.
