Hey all - thankful to have found this exeellent forum.

Just bought my frst Vaio, SR290PDB.

Quick ship model, came with XP downgrade, and that's what the installed OS is out of the box. Has Vista Business disks included, and I want to install the Vista - no need for the XP Pro for me.

I see lots of posts going from Vista down to Xp, but I can;t find many regarding my dilemma. No documentation in owners manual either.

Is it as simple as putting the Vista disk in and install over top of XP? Any advice would be appreciated...
