A newer driver often fixes bugs or problems with different programs. I'm using the intel video driver directly from the intel homepage. The newest driver runs very stable and aero is working perfectly! :)

The only problem I can see with that new driver is distortion when using the Dreamscene beta (certain video formats display colours incorrectly, and CPU usage is higher than it was before). Other than that, works far better than the driver Sony supplies.

Well lots of problems are still around, could be Vista, Intel drivers, other drivers or your Beta software?

I haven't even bothered to try with my games yet, the nVidia driver for Vista is shockingly slow at the moment and I can't use the latest ones from nVidia, it won't let me install.

or might it be that it increased the total available graphics memory? it says 224MB under the video cards properties. i never noticed what was the value before i did this driver update for vista..

FYI...Sony f'ed up...the driver posted on their site as a Vista driver is in fact an old XP driver. Morons...for the latest Intel driver, best bet is to go to the Intel site and download them there.
