What I want is that my laptop choose automatically "high performance" mode when its connected to electricity and that it switches automatically to "battery saver" mode when on battery?

of course it's possible. You just download either Notebook Hardware Control and set those settings. Or if you're like me and NHC doesn't work (doesn't work on my VGN-C240E) then you can try RMClock. Nice utility as well :)

I just downloaded nhc. I could set the cpu to the way I wanted depending on electricity or on battery. But coul not do this for everything. It seems this is done in profiles and profile setting is desabled for me :(
