is it possible to get winxp drivers?

Hey everyone. I was wondering if it was still possible to get Win XP drivers off of Sony's website? I have an FE890.

And if FE890 doesn't have any XP drivers, can I just use older model's drivers but the same FE series?

 

You most likely will not be able to. I tried that using newer drivers in a model I upgraded to Vista but the drivers were incompatible. Good Luck.

You can use the FE3 drivers and utilities.

About C series I am not sure.Check out UK sony website to find out the series number of C-series with XP.

acutally C290 does not working. accidently I erased Sony's hidden patition which has all the back ups for Vista and now I'm screwed...Never going to buy a laptop from Sony!!

 

Actually what drivers u need ? Vista or XP?
If u want XP , go for C1 drivers not C2.C2 comes preloaded with vista, so the original drivers are for vista only.Whereas C1 came with XP, so try C1.

Those are vista drivers.
They wont work on XP.And they work only on US (canada and latin america also) models.

 

Very hard to find XP driver for my SZ440 notebook, too.
There are 3 items cannot find or install:
1. Camera
2. Finger Print
3. Bluetooth

Ext: Camera of SZ4 is VCC5, not VCC2 as before.
I have downloaded SZ3 driver and utilities from ftp...vaio as someone' guide but it was unable to unrar.
I also have downloaded driver for SZ340 and use remove check model when set up but it doesn't work !!!

Is there anyone have experience know the link to download pls instruct me....

 

Of course I need XP drivers. Vista driver is already available at Sony USA.
Well...I used C2 because my computer starts C2 90....so...I should try C1 next time ..

The FE3 Zip files contain everything needed to get ALL of the FE890 devices working properly under XP?

This is extremely helpful, I was at my wit's end trying to get XP configured on the 890. I can't believe Sony didn't provide XP drivers for it, not everyone wants to run Vista, and there are a LOT of programs out there that don't run properly under Vista, some of them legacy applications that will never have Vista support. If the laptops can support XP, the most prolific OS in existence, they should provide drivers for it, simple as that. Heck, since the 790 is nearly identical to the 890 and it supports XP, they already have 90% of the XP drivers for the 890 ready to go. In most cases they just need to change the install files so they don't fail when you try to install them on the 890 (which by the way is really annoying when you know the driver would work just fine).

 

Yea it is really retarded that they don't offer ANY drivers! So hopefully someone could find drivers for the bluetooth and camera.
