i got it to boot off xp disk, tell it to take the f6 drivers, but the sodding laptop is not powering up the usb floppy drive, so cant give it the intel matrix drivers off intel website.

When you press enter during the F6 stage, do you notice any activity on your USB floppy drive? Maybe USB legacy support is disabled in the BIOS. Are you able to boot off that USB floppy drive with a boot disk? You can verify by first enabling the "External Drive Boot" option in the BIOS (press F2 during the VAIO logo to access it) and then making sure that USB devices have higher priority than the optical drive and hard drive in the boot order. Also, make sure that the USB floppy drive is inserted when the notebook is powered on. I don't think the notebook will recognize it if you attach it during the F6 stage.
