    Hi all.

I have a sony vaio laptop with a smashed monitor, can see nothing at all. Now I have a spare monitor that I can connect up to the laptop but the instructions from most forums isn't getting me there.

If anyone has this Sony Vaio VGN-C1S/H could you possibly help me look at something.
Right the laptop has been force shutdown a couple of times and as it's my wife's and not mine I'm not entirely sure of the log on procedure.. It's on win xp so can someone tell me what it is so I can try doing it blind? from a force shutdown?
once it's started I have to use fn and f7 to change to an external monitor, now on my other vaio with win 7, I have to hit fn and then f7 twice then return, I've tried this on the broken one and it hasn't worked (still not sure if I'm actually logged on) so could someone have a look at that for me too???

Anyone got advise on this for me? would be very grateful.

Perhaps something you can do to see if you've logged on is to turn the volume on the highest setting, and maybe Windows will make the logon noise when you get in.

I have sound and the I get the start up tune but to be honest the volume has been turned off on the laptop most of the time and I'm not sure if there is a sound after log on... But good suggestion and I'll try a few more times.

    Thank you
