i've noticed that when watching hd 720p or 1080p files from my comp i get a line which kind of distorts the video image on top and below it...
as if my hd screen can't respond fast enough or something

or could it be the drivers or something???
but i've noticed this when i was using my old vaio F series with the hdmi cord on the 40inch lcd this would happen, on my vaio didn'treally notice it until today
    any help greatly appreciated

Are you noticing the problem on your built in screen or on an external monitor/TV?

Is it still there if you run the movie in a window instead of full screen? Which player are you using? Tried different players? Software decoding or GPU hardware assisted?

Also, try changing the setting for Vertical sync to 'force ON'. (nVidia control panel> manage 3D settings> global settings> ).
