looks like the battery drain issue people are having with the New Vaio laptops is more of a Windows 7 issue not your laptop!

I have the battery drain issue on my Z with XP Pro - about 10% per day (complete shut down)

well i bought a new sony vaio sr540G this past xmas and i have been using it for a month now and my battery drains really quickly..and whats surprising is that when i shut down the laptop when the battery is at 47% (just an example), in few hours when i turn it back on, the battery seems to be at 29%... but it runs for a little more than 29% .. i think there might be a false battery indicator problem along w. battery drainage problem

ps. i have windows 7 professional (factory installed)

OS doesn't matter its a design/BIOS etc. problem - and as far as I am aware also happens on other laptops - but not as noticeably as on Vaios.

    Where's the petition?!?

We need to get one going, burn it, and put it flaming under the techies' chairs so they can hurry up and get a fix out....

Does anyone know what the battery drain is so noticeable on the Vaio?

Does Sony traditionally write/use bad BIOS for their laptops?

Far not as noticeably as on Vaios..

I didn't use my old IBM T42 for several months, may be even half of year, when i turned it on (my sz was in service center for fan replacement), there still was around 30 % left.
